YORKSHIRE BANK HELPS DAVENTRY COMPANY DRIVE FORWARD

Added: (Mon Nov 10 2008)

An expanding Daventry car transporter company is driving towards further success in Europe after developing another innovative trailer.

Brian James Trailers in Sopwith Way, Drayton Fields Industrial Estate, has spent six months developing the CarGo X-OVA.

The family-run business was provided with funding by Yorkshire Bank, which has helped the company to win is new business in the UK and abroad for its latest innovative product.

Paul Brooksbank, corporate partner at Yorkshire Bank’s Financial Solutions Centre in Coventry, said he was delighted Brian James Trailers was going from strength to strength.

He said: “The company doesn’t stand still – it is continually looking at ways to expand not only its product range but the markets it sells to.

“Yorkshire Bank is committed to creating partnerships with our customers and we wish them continued success.”

Brandon James, managing director of Brian James Trailers, said the business was continually developing its product range to break new ground in the commercial trailer industry.

He said: “The CarGo X-OVA is for contractors and local authorities interested in being able to load onto the back of commercial vehicles while towing a trailer without detaching any of the machinery and in complete safety.

“The problem is that machines are difficult to lift onto trucks unless you have a mechanical lifting system or extraordinarily long and impractical ramps.

“This trailer has a lifting front ramp system which is ideal for moving machines such as mowers or pedestrian machines that can be driven onto trucks.

“Our design prevents any risk of injury to the operator because you drive the vehicle onto the trailer and the truck.

“We designed the product for a particular customer in Scotland when he asked us if we could meet his specific needs and we recognised there must be other people in the same position so we set about the development.

“We had positive feed-back from the commercial and public sector at the annual IOG Saltex Show in Windsor in September and one of the delegates said it was the most innovative product at the event.

“We are exporting the product from our sales distribution plant in Leipzig in Germany and we are committed to developing our European sales operation because we believe it is key to our future growth.”
