UK Office Direct Makes Donation to Callum's Appeal

Pressbox (Press Release) - UK Swindon, UK, 11th December 2007 – UK Office Direct Ltd today announced that they have made a donation of £2,000 and 20,000 envelopes to ‘Callum’s Appeal’ a worthy local cause to help five-year-old Callum Kaye, who has a life-threatening brain tumour.

Michael Griffin, Managing Director said, "Callum is only five, and if that was my six-year-old daughter Nicole, I would be devastated".

"I can only imagine what the family are going through."

Doctors in the UK have said they cannot do any more to treat Callum.

But his parents Anna Eagle and Craig Kaye are determined to take him to a hospital in New York for revolutionary treatment.

They need to raise £175,000 as a deposit - and a total of £300,000 to pay for the treatment and associated costs.

Michael said: "It is a shame the NHS can't do more.

“It is nice to offer something back even if it is only a little thing.

“As a company we wanted to do our bit”.

Callum was diagnosed with medulloblastoma - a severe tumour - in October 2005. A month later, doctors removed 80 per cent of the tumour. They couldn't remove more for fear of paralysing him.

Callum's family hope to take him to the Sloan Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre for treatment next year.

Anna, Callum’s mum said: "We're very pleased that there are people out there who care enough to make donations like this.

"I am extremely grateful for all the support we are getting.

"As a family we are chuffed to bits."
