The UK’s first dedicated online store for guitar makers has been launched by Tonetech Ltd.

Stockport, Cheshire March 03 2008 – Amateur and professional guitar makers (luthiers) need access to special timbers and products which hitherto meant either importing them from the USA or travelling the breadth of the country to find what they need. Tonetech Ltd has launched an online store supplying the specialist timber, paint and other general luthier supplies.
The new company was set up by Bill Quinn, himself an amateur maker, and Dan MacPherson, a professional luthier, because both were dissatisfied with local suppliers.
Bill, from Hazel Grove, Stockport, gave up a career in Management Consulting to pursue a dream of building a company of his own. Following a speculative email to Dan, who had a small luthier supply business in Southend, the pair agreed to invest their time and money into developing the online store.
“Our aim is to provide all the materials and information the UK makers need to enjoy their guitar making.”
