Surviving Tax Time
Added: (Mon Jul 14 2008)
People tend to stress out at tax time partly due to work overload and partly due to the stress of worry. To make tax time easier, keep up to date with all your record keeping so you know where you are - and where everything else is! Use a filing system that is easy, or take lessons on how to manage the one you have.
Once the day is over, don't take tax worries home with you. Make an extra effort to take some 'me time' for relaxing. A walk on the beach or in the park; an hour at a spa or gym; or curling up with a good book by the fire are all ways of relaxing both mind and body. You can even use your travel time for relaxing. Play some favourite music rather than listening to the news, which is nearly always bad. If music isn’t your thing, then try some humour. A few good chuckles will relax you like nothing else can.
It is even possible to relax while still at your desk. To do this tighten a small group of muscles for the count of five and then relax them for the same time. Start with your feet and gradually work your way up to shoulders and hands.
