Satelliet Browns Furnish Prestige London Locations
Added: (Mon Nov 05 2007)
Satelliet Browns, the UK’s leading specialist furnishers to the leisure industry have successfully completed three high profile contracts in the heart of London.
The prestige locations are the main dining room of The Millennium Hotel at Chelsea FC, the Café in the Crypt at St Martins in the Fields at Trafalgar Square, and the central lobby area of the famous Strand Palace Hotel in the heart of the West End.
Harvey Ockrim, Satelliet Brown’s joint managing director said: “Each of these projects presented its own unique challenges not least because they are all household names.
“We worked with Tonik Design on two of the projects, the Millennium Hotel at Chelsea FC and the Strand Palace Hotel.
“At the Café in Crypt, we worked directly with the client.”
Mr Ockrim added: “Flexibility was the big issue at the Millennium Hotel because their dining room had to provide the intimate feel of a chic Chelsea restaurant, as well as being able to cope with full capacity on match days and for other functions.
“The Strand Palace is one of London’s oldest hotels, but the lobby area was looking a bit tired, and the space was not well configured to cope with the pressure of guests arriving in large groups as tourist parties always do.
“In both these locations we decided to go with the Soho seating range which comes in individual modules, fixed seating and modular benches, with or without corner units.
“At the Café in Crypt one of the issues we faced was the uneven nature of the old flagstone flooring so our choice of the Quadro range of chairs and the tables and bar stools all required adjustable feet.”
Tracey Fagg, designer with Tonik said: “Satelliet Browns’ furnishings helped us complete the projects within budget without compromising the quality and feel of our design concepts for the Millennium and Strand Palace Hotels.
“We have had very positive feedback from both locations.”
The refurbishment projects were completed less than a year after the Satelliet Browns brand was launched in a multi-million pound partnership agreement between Glasgow-based Browns and the Dutch-based international Satelliet Group.
Mr Ockrim added: “When we joined forces with Satelliet we said that it would enable us to extend our reach and tackle the most demanding of contracts, and that is exactly what has happened.”
