PricewaterhouseCoopers chooses HansaWorld as mid-market partner in Mexico

Global professional services firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has partnered with HansaWorld in Mexico to focus on the emerging market’s small and medium businesses.
“Targeting only large corporations meant we were missing out on a large part of Mexico’s economy,” explains advisory manager Cesar Pinera, “We decided to revise our strategy to focus on small- to medium-sized businesses as well.”
Starting by offering assurance and advisory services for medium-sized companies, PwC soon realized that many did not have adequate business systems with the right functionality to manage their processes. After reviewing a number of business software options for the mid-market, PwC opted to partner with HansaWorld to fill this gap.
“We heard that HansaWorld was popular with the mid-market in Argentina,” says Pinera, “so we asked for a demonstration and were surprised at how versatile and cost-effective the software was”.
“HansaWorld delivers enterprise-level functionality with a medium-sized business price tag,” added Pinera. Implementations were also easier and much faster than those of the other solutions they considered. “Large implementations are not ideal because they become expensive and in a medium sized business, the budget is always better allocated elsewhere.”
The main attraction for the mid-market is the software’s total cost of ownership. Pinera says many medium-sized businesses are afraid of ERP software because costs can quickly escalate far beyond their budget. But HansaWorld provides a clear and transparent process. “They don’t need to spend large sums of money on new servers, hardware or extra licenses,” says Pinera.
The other key benefit for medium-sized businesses is HansaWorld’s comprehensive integration of firm-wide business processes. “The software is easier to use because it has been designed from the bottom up,” he says. “Many of the other products we considered were simply an assembly of parts that had been bought and included as add-on modules.”
A team from PricewaterhouseCoopers shadowed HansaWorld representatives in sales meetings in other countries to get a better understanding of the product and its offering. They witnessed companies’ positive response when seeing the demonstrations. “Buy-in from customers was almost immediate when they saw that the software could deliver exactly what was proposed on paper,” says Pinera.
He says HansaWorld is equally suited to large corporations, enabling PwC to serve a wide spectrum of companies in Mexico, from the small to the very large.
