Leuzzi Fumar acquires global distribution rights for Joyas de Panama Cigars

U.S. based boutique cigar importer and distributor Leuzzi Fumar cvtg LLC recently inked an agreement for global distribution rights for Panama's only remaining cigar factory, Joyas de Panama.
Michael Lewis Sr. of Leuzzi Fumar's Willoughby Hills, Ohio office elaborated. "Joyas de Panama cigars are truly one of a kind. The factory in Panama has been producing only limited quantities of cigars for nearly 20 years. The operation was started in the 1980's by Gilberto Oliva Sr., and has a rich tradition in the tobacco industry. Currently operated by Ms. Mirriam Padilla and Mr. David Reynaga, the operation has the capacity to produce 300,000 cigars per month. In the history of this manufacturing facility there has been involvement by such notables as Nestor and Cornado Placencia, Gilberto Oliva Sr., and was originally an experimental facility for the production of shade grown wrappers. After a storm blew away the shade cloth in the mid-eighties, Gilberto Olivas left Panama for good. But, not before he trained Ms. Padilla in the art of constructing fine cigars crafted in the Cuban tradition."

"Joyas de Panama uses a unique 10 year aged long filler which results in a mild to medium bodied cigar that burns extremely evenly, continues burning even after 5-15 minutes of rest, and produces volumes of smoke. This is a truly magnificent find."
Suppliers to regional distributors and retailers in the U.S.A. as well as global outlets, Leuzzi Fumar currently handles only cigars from "micro-rollers" and "other manufacturers of fine cigars who may not have access to expensive advertising and product awareness campaigns."
"We do blind tasting events and pit lesser-known brands against some of the best known brands at our celebrity Cigar Bouts, which can be seen at cigarbout.com. We represent cigar manufacturers from Costa Rica, Dominican Republic and now Panama. We are negotiating with manufacturers from Honduras and Nicaragua, also." states Lewis. "Because most of the facilities we represent do not advertise, there are substantial savings passed on to regional distributors and retailers, with prices starting as low as 35 or 40 cents for a long-filler cigar which might otherwise cost a dollar or more for a comparable product. And these manufacturers go out of their way to provide such services as free custom label design, custom packaging and custom blending."
