Pressbox (Press Release) -
According to maverick marketer Tom Cone of www.LearnByVideo.co.uk most people who get a mobile phone won't ever be able to use it fully!
He claims they'll have great difficulty in mastering all the features because the manuals that accompany mobiles are too complicated, too difficult to follow and too time consuming.
"When you're in the shop they make the phones look easy to use and it's not till you get home and that you realise how complicated your new mobile really is!" Says Tom, who feels the manufacturers and distributors are short-changing their customers.
"Once you're out of the shop, you're on your own!" he says.
Using the internet to see if he was alone with his frustration, Tom a marketing specialist based in Yorkshire discovered that according to Google-Suggest, an online research tool powered by the internet giant, over 20 million people searched for "How to use Mobile Phone"
"People don't have time to read a boring 100 page manual, especially if it doesn't have pictures" He reckons.
Using video to demonstrate a phone's features and putting it on DVD, makes the job of mastering a mobile phone much easier, according to Tom.
To prove his point he's created 6 easy to follow video-manuals covering top sellers: Motorola V3; Nokia 1100; Orange SPV C500; Samsung D500; Samsung E600 and Sony Ericsson T290i.
"It's not rocket science. All I did was film the screen and the button presses as I worked through the manuals."
Tom feels DVD represents a real communications breakthrough as the viewer has complete control of the learning process.
"When you play the DVD, you can watch the whole thing - if you have time - or you can go to the exact chapter to master a particular feature. You can watch the sequence in 'real time', or slow it down, or speed it up and even freeze the action if you wish
"Mark my words, althopugh these are the world's first DVD phone manuals, one day all mobile phone manuals will be on DVD"
