Fashion Access March - Defining Tomorrow's Trends

Added: (Tue Feb 13 2007)

Fashion Access, the largest trade fair in Asia for handbags, footwear, travelware, leather & fur garments and fashion accessories, will be held on 28 30 March, 2007, in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Over 900 exhibitors from more than 35 countries and regions - will be displaying their latest products and designs. Over 90% of the space is already booked and the organiser, APLF Ltd., is planning additional space to accommodate overwhelming demand.

A strong focus on handbags, which has proved so popular, will be maintained. The fair will feature several group pavilions specialising in certain products, such as: Argentina with handbags and leathergoods, India with leather garments and leathergoods, the Philippines with fashion bags and accessories, Taiwan with luggage products, and Thailand with handbags and footwear.

Three top trade events under one roof

Two additional major fashion events, organised by APLF Ltd, will take place concurrently with Fashion Access. They are: APLF- Materials, Manufacturing and Technology (MMT), the global marketplace for leather, and Prime Source Forum, networking event for the international apparel industry.

To make it convenient for visiting the APLF fairs, Fashion Access badge holder will be entitled to visit APLF-Materials, Manufacturing and Technology.

New sourcing ideas

Responding to the widening demand for accessories from the buyers attending Fashion Access, exhibitors of fashion accessories promise a wide range - from belts to fashion jewellery, and even eyewear.

Continuous buyer demand to source footwear in Asia

Fashion Access continues to add to the number of footwear exhibitors. This is due, in large part, to the trend to feature footwear more widely in apparel shops. Footwear will feature prominently on the stands of exhibitors from Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, France, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Thailand and UK. Among these, some of the exhibitors will feature series of handbag and footwear collections that create a prefect match.

Ahead of the Trends

'Cool hunters' are on a role at Fashion Access with a series of fashion shows, seminars and the trends lounges, pointing the way ahead for Fall/Winter 07-08 and Spring/Summer 08.

Key products from a whole range of exhibitors will be on display at the Fashion Trends Lounge, aiding buyers to catch the trend of Fall/Winter 2007-08. The seminar programmes of both Fashion Access and APLF-MMT have, once again, been designed for retailers and buyers by offering the latest information on trends, trade and technology.

Pre-registration of seminars will be available to buyers and exhibitors at http://www.aplf.com/seminarregform/en/seminar_form.asp in February.

An opening fashion show will introduce the mood and colour trends of Spring/Summer 08, in association with the Comit Franais de la Couleur (French Colour Committee) and a renowned fashion designer. Buyers can also view the hottest colour trends and material directions of Spring/ Summer 08 at Material Trends Lounge.

Fashion Avenue

Companies with strong branded products and design services are found here. Products are tailored primarily for boutique and department store buyers. They feature advanced design concepts and craftsmanship and most are available for low volume orders.

Outstanding exhibitors from the Best of APLF Awards

The Best of APLF Awards will feature for the seventh time at the fair. The icon of Best of APLF Award Winner and Best of APLF Award Nominee, on the fascia of the booths concerned, has been well received from buyers and exhibitors alike.

The icons, together with the award, have become recognised as a certification of outstanding design, quality and innovation. The international judging panel will consists of respected professionals from the industry.

Competitions

In addition to the Best of APLF awards, APLF Ltd continues to sponsor and promote competitions that can help new and emerging international design talent.

Design prototypes from the Footwear Design Competition Hong Kong 2007 will be on view.

Plus, a new international competition, Design A Bag Competition organised by Fashion Access, conducted on-line is already producing some lively and imaginative concepts.

Fashion Access March 2007 is an event not to be missed.
