It’s a line from Supernova’s new training video on feedback skills. Supernova has teamed up with HayGroup to provide a practical example of how emotional intelligence can help managers do their jobs better.
Giving Feedback – emotional intelligence in action, takes an amusing informative look at how feedback skills underpin much of what managers and team leaders do – not only formal tasks, such as reviewing performance, coaching, and training, but also day-to-day informal communication. Unfortunately it’s easy to get wrong, especially if we see things only from our point of view.
The video consists of realistic dramatised scenes that demonstrate good and poor practice. In addition David Barnard of HayGroup introduces a simple feedback model and explains the significance of an emotionally intelligent approach. He also gives a commentary on the scenes. A Facilitator’s Guide and Workbook provide useful supporting resources.
