DTI invites Konka-Fulim Mining in GMA state visit in China

Philippines. The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) invited Konka-Fulim Mining & Development Corporation to join the business delegates of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo state visit to Beijing, China on September 2-3, 2004. Konka-Fulim Mining will sign a joint venture agreement with two China’s top companies Echeng Iron & Steel Group Co. Ltd. and Shenzhen Zhaoheng Industrial Co. Ltd.
Howard A. Ko, president of Konka-Fulim Mining said “his group will invest US$ 30M in iron ore mining in the Philippines and expected to create job opportunities to about 2,000 Filipinos.”
Shenzhen Zhaoheng Industrial Co. Ltd. is an electric power firm in China and Echeng Iron & Steel Group is one of the largest steel manufacturer which rank no. 216 among the top 500 largest industrial enterprises in China.
Konka-Fulim Mining & Development Corporation is a subsidiary company of the Konka Group who has interest in motorcycle, electronics, food business, real estate, financing, personal care products, cold storage and one of the largest exporter of chromites in the Philippines.
