Dinner Ladies Developing Future Generations

One of the Souths leading Business Coaches, Rob Rave and teaching colleague Cilla Sparks from The Solutions Game have been running Creative Conversations workshops with School Dinner Ladies from schools around East Dorset including Oakhurst First School in West Moors, St Marks Primary School in Highcliffe. The Dinner Ladies have heralded the sessions as a huge success saying that they are now more aware of communicating with the children in a way that really engages with them.

Rob and Cilla have been called in to provide workshops for lunchtime supervisors to promote positive interactions for the school children in the playground, classroom and over the dinner table. The workshops are part of an extended schools programme involving Teachers, Teaching Assistants, lunchtime supervisors and parents from eight different schools in East Dorset aiming to enhance living and learning across the whole community.

Rob Rave of The Solutions Game says Its great to be able to run these workshops as I know that the work we are undertaking in schools has a direct impact on our future generations. Its about highlighting the importance of social and emotional aspects of learning experiences and introducing people to a radically new way of having conversations that make a difference. This approach to change and making progress is increasingly being used in schools and companies across the UK & Europe

The workshops provide solution focussed interactive exercises which are useful and fun, including questioning and answering, learning positive approaches to children with behavioural problems, and interacting with children (and other staff) in a clear and encouraging way.

Cilla Sparks from The Solutions Game says The lunchtime supervisors have been great to work with, and they are really keen to take what theyve learnt and put it into practise.

One of the participants said I never thought such simple exercises could work so well its been a real eye opener for me, and has taught me so many tools and techniques when dealing with the children on a day to day basis

Cilla finally adds Not only have we worked with the Dinner Ladies but weve also involved the Head Teachers, Teachers, Teaching Assistance and parents as well. Its worth noting that by involving parents schools have access to funding for projects such as this under the extended schools agenda.

If you would like to know more about the Creative Conversations workshops being undertaken by The Solutions Game suitable for both education and business environments, please contact Rob Rave through his PR company Spiral MPR on 01202 676762.
