Bushwacker Fender Flares enhance your 4WDs appearance

Added: (Wed Feb 08 2012)

Pressbox (Press Release) - Jeep and most 4WDs and SUVs are designed with some leeway in the breadth of tire they supply. The vehicle purchaser, who is buying the vehicle as a safe car for the wife to drive when taking and fetching the kids from school and sports events as well as having adequate room for all the paraphernalia that many families carry around, may elect to save himself quite a lot in up front as well as running costs by only fitting fairly narrow road tires.

Many SUVs which are mostly for paved road driving, but want the option of a little off road adventure if they opt that way, actually elect to take a broad tire, but one that fits well within the standard wheel arches of the vehicle.

And then there is the off road adventurer. This is the guy who has set his vehicle up for challenging off road journeys. As a general rule he will have special shock absorbers fitted lest the bad roads shake the various bits and pieces of the car loose. His vehicle will have protective armor to shield it from the scratches from the busk and the chipping of the stones that get kicked up.

And he will have fitted broad tires, Tires that are double the footprint of the first guy mentioned above.

These off road tires are very effective. One doesn't want to use them much on paved roads as the wear becomes costly, but off road with the tire pressure let down to 10 psi or less they will not get stuck in soft sand, will fly through most mud puddles, will absorb the vibrations while travelling on a corrugated gravel track and will laugh at stony and rocky ground.

But they don't fit into the wheel arches. Usually the wheel arch will be modified so that there is no scraping of the tire on the bodywork as the suspension moves up and down over the rough terrain. And there is always the danger of mud, sand and stones flying all over the show, chipping the body work and possible hitting the windshield.

So the wise adventurer fits Bushwacker Fender Flares over his wheel arches. These have both cosmetic and safety uses. For a start a vehicle which has tires protruding from its wheel arches may look fairly macho but as soon as that vehicle has travelled anywhere in the wet it will be mud spattered and the wheels themselves start looking ugly. Bushwacker fender flares make the appearance complete. For a start they protect the tires and secondly they shield the bodywork from mud spatter and stray stone chips.
