Added: (Wed Apr 25 2007)

Pressbox (Press Release) - As part of its ongoing training and education programme, the British Soft Drinks Association (BSDA) has just held the first of two training workshops on the basic processes and principles of manufacturing soft drinks, at the Robinson Executive Centre, at Wyboston Lakes in Bedfordshire.

The workshop provided an introduction to the principles and production processes involved in the manufacture of bottled water, carbonated drinks, fruit juices, and still and dilutable drinks. It also covered the technical and scientific aspects of soft drinks manufacture such as, ingredients, water treatment, concentration, carbonation, basic microbiology, filling, packaging and transportation of the final product.

BSDA's training and membership manager, Julia Broad, commented, "We have been holding these courses for almost forty years for people involved in both the manufacturing and supply chain industries. The speakers are consultants and people with hands-on experience within the industry, all of whom have a vast wealth of knowledge and expertise."

Twelve delegates from leading soft drinks manufacturers including Britvic, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, Feelgood Drinks and Tesco attended the 3 day residential workshop, with speakers from Britvic, GlaxoSmithKline and Reading Scientific Services as well as the BSDA.

Mrs Broad added, "We've been using the Robinson Executive Centre for the last seven years because of its exceptionally high standards and everything the delegates require is under one roof. The excellent road, rail and airport links make it easily accessible for our delegates. It's an excellent venue and we look forward to the next workshop in November."
