"Hollywood's Film Exec Randy Tat Creates Stardom With A Brush"
Added: (Sun May 21 2006)
Randy Tat is a multi talented and gifted artist. He is a painter, interior designer, illustrator, cartoonist, television and Exec. VP of Production CO at Paramount pictures.
Tats paintings are beautiful, artistic creations that render a world in soft, abstract colors and are an imprint of his feelings and experiences. From the texture landscape of Driving Caos to Rock, Paper and Scissors Randy portrays the world in a gentle light. As Sheryl Mandel of Integrity Publicity wrote so beautifully: Go back to your childhood, when there was magic and wonder, giggling secrets, soft whisperings and stories to be told and then you may find yourself again." Those are the feelings that you experience when you are contempletating his art. Tat sold more than 150 individual pieces to collectors, with many more commissioned works. Randys limited edition release of his lithograph, "Living on the Ceiling," sold 250 out of the 300 in the series.
Randy donated an art piece titled Timey the Juggling Clown's Circus Trunk (Circa 1942) to the Zimmer Museum: I was very honored to be chosen to participate in this very prestigious show, which also benefits a very important cause. Barbara Lazaroff, architectural designer and restaurateur said of Randy's work: Timey the Juggling Clowns Circus Trunks is a completely inspired imaginative piece. The artist has created an entire life history with an extraordinary narrative. There are so many layers of craft, thought and attention to detail involved. Its as though the trunks are a living, breathing piece of art.
As an Entertainment Executive, he has been responsible of many shows and films in Hollywood. Every time he gets involved in a project he puts at work all his talents, taking care of the whole development of the production, the coordination of the casting, set building, marketing strategies and supervising every detail. His last work was How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. But there is a long list of films and television shows he was involved in such as: Black Widow, An Officer and a Gentleman, Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy, The Rape of Richard Beck, Divorce Wars, Innocent Love, Family Ties, The Cosby Show, Matlock, The Golden Girls, The Tonight Show, Night Court, Bob Hope Specials, Crime Story and NBC Sports just to name a few.
Artist Interviews had the pleasure of visiting Randy in his house in Hollywood which once belonged to movie icon John Wayne. It was like entering a magical world. Randy designed and decorated it, transforming every room in a piece of art.
