"Cauliflower"
Added: (Mon Nov 10 2008)
The fashion label „Cauliflower“ from Berlin, was founded 2 months ago by Ann-Kathrin Zieger.
She was born in 1987 in Berlin. She started making clothes six years ago, in order to make clothes for „normal“ people, like you and me. People with hips and arse, tall and small girls. She found that she had problems finding clothes that fit properly and started making clothes for herself and her friends.
She moved to Oxford 1 month ago to work together with James Puder at thePUDER gallery.
The fashion Label Cauliflower is influenced on the Berlin streetlife and streetstyle. The clothes are a crazy combination of colour and extradinary styles, which is a perfect symbol for the modern lifestyle. The motto for
Cauliflower is to make the most comfortable & stylish clothes with lovely and carefully selected unique materials for everybody, this is also a reason that she cast her models from the street. She thinks that fashion should not be restricted to tall and thin girls, and models her clothes in a variety of shapes and sizes. With this inclusive concept of fashion she is also fighting against eating disorders, influenced by TV and pictures in magazines. Her clothes seek to underline the beauty of the individual model. If a person does not feel comfortable in the things she is wearing, it doesen´t matter if she is pretty, it makes her look unalluring: if, on the other hand, she feels at ease it makes the person feel gorgeous. Every girl can be gorgeous!
On the 21th of November, England will get the chance to see Ann-Kathrin’s first fashion show under the label „Caulifower“ at 44 Iffley Turn, Oxford, in the Routanda at Grove House.
Her fashion shows are like big parties, with girls dancing in her designs.
It´s a must-see! Every girl brings her own style to the show. They are free to express themselves through movement and dance, in order to generate a natural environment.
Ann-Kathrin Zieger never finished studying fashion design because she fouund the rules for a fashion designer overly strict and un-creative. She studied graphic design in Berlin, and Industrial design in Vienna for one semester, which encouraged her to experiment with a wide range ofmaterials.
Five jears ago she founded her first fashion label „Jeune Papillon“and also put on fashion shows in Berlin and Vienna, but in this current show for „Cauliflower“ she has completely reinvigorated her style, and also extended her Jeune Papillion range to include eye-catching bags and accessories.
