Running from 26 � 27 April 2006, Pavilion 2, NEC, Birmingham, MUREX caters for all sectors of the museums and heritage sector bringing them together to share key industry developments, the latest technology, exchange ideas and debate current issues. MUREX offers professionals across the museum and heritage sector the chance to meet key suppliers and discuss specific requirements face-to-face while comparing and contrasting different products, services and solutions under one roof.
This year�s exhibition sees the launch of many new products and services including:
Amazing Interactive (stand M81) designers of 3D- software interactives and displays will be showcasing Touch screen software, interactive display technologies and creative content as well as merchandising concepts and products designed to operate alongside its software.
Bleep Computing (stand M41) will be demonstrating Electronic Point Of Sale front end tilling, Back office stock management solutions and visitor attraction ticketing solutions.
Britannia Storage Systems (stand M61) will be displaying new ranges of storage and display solutions, ranging from Display Cases, Shelving, Racking, Mezzanine Floors, Mobile Storage, Drawer Units and Cabinets.
DS Limited (stand M45) will be showcasing its collection management management systems for museums and archives, demonstrating its calm range; Calm for Museums, Calm for Records Management, Calm for Archives DServe, Web OPAC module and ImageView for managing images.
Hidden World Originals (stand M78) specialists in customised bookmark mementos will have on display examples of its latest offerings Insights Bookmarks, with a gold or silver finish.
Icam Archive Systems Ltd (stand M34) designers and manufacturers of specialist digital and microfilm camera bases for the gentle capturing of fragile bound volumes. The latest PhaseOne one shot, ultra high resolution digital camera mounted on to the GUARDIAN pneumatic book handling base will be available to test and operate.
Rackline System Storage Ltd (stand M101) designers and manufacturers also install bespoke static and mobile storage systems. Rackline will be highlighting how its bespoke product can accommodate the museum and library community.
Retails Systems Group (stand M76) will be showing hospitality, mobile selling and integrated web store software for The Microsoft Retail Management System.
Secol Ltd (stand M83) Leading European Manufacturers of Archive Storage Systems for Museums & Libraries will be showcasing Acid Free Storage Binders and Systems Portfolios Sleeves and Pockets for Paper and Photograph Storage Museum Boxes General Conservation Products.
A programme of free, high quality seminars is also available on the show floor, designed to appeal to all sectors of the museum and heritage industry. Sessions cover many of the issues affecting museums and attractions today including funding; how to develop successful partnerships; regeneration; conservation and using technology to bring collections to new audiences or traditional audiences in new ways.
MUREX features exhibitors ranging from suppliers of design and display services to lighting & technical equipment, packaging & storage, multi-media, audio systems, queue management and themed environments.
MUREX is running alongside the Library + information Show (LiS) which features suppliers of library management systems, security & self-service systems, AV equipment and special needs services, amongst others.
Museums and public libraries both face similar challenges such as the upkeep of public buildings, preservation of heritage and governmental administrative and legislative issues. MUREX visitors are free to attend the further seminar programme that accompanies the LiS event.
