As a tour guide I want to inform you about a reliable and experienced carpet expert in Izmir Mr.Hayim Akyuz with his shop Motif Carpet.
Located along one of the main streets of Izmir, this is one of our favorite carpet and kilim shops in Turkey. Operated by the very engaging and personable economist Hayim Akyuz, who speaks impeccable English and whose family has been in the textile business for decades, this two-story shop and gallery is filled with excellent quality old and new Turkish carpets and kilims as well as tapestries from Turkmenistan. Hayim, who also is a community leader, is extremely knowledgeable about textiles and spends a great deal of time with visitors in explaining the differences in quality, colors, and designs. He works with many international clients who have become long-term customers. There's no need to bargain here since the shop offers excellent prices and good value.
