Tissu Premier showcases the fabric of N France and beyond

Pressbox (Press Release) - Tissu Premier, the fabrics and accessories trade fair, welcomed 4,100 visitors to Lille (in northern France) from 2 to 3 September 2009. The two-day event showcased the work of 150 international exhibitors from 21 countries.

Tissu Premier focuses on innovation, creativity and quirky design. It features exhibitors specialising in fabrics and accessories for women’s ready-to-wear, men’s wear and children’s wear, targeting the requirements of multiple retailers. Buyers attending the show represented specialist retail chains, large-scale specialist retailers, mail-order companies, hypermarkets, garment manufacturers and clothing brands.

Tissu Premier takes place each year in January and in September. Compared to the January 2009 event, the September 2009 show recorded an increase of 2.5% in the number of Belgian visitors, as well as more French, Italian and Spanish attendees. The organisers’ focus on the British market was successful, as there was an increase of 17% in the number of British visitors to the September show.

The Trends Forum conferences attracted large audiences, with 300 participants at each event, while the Green Touch sessions on sustainable development welcomed an average of 60 to 70 participants at each Speaker's Corner, which focused on subjects such as recycling. The Last Minute service was also a success and caught the attention of buyers seeking fast fashion updates for winter 2009/2010.

The 2010/2011 winter trends were showcased in Mix’print video displays, as well as at the Forum, which offered visitors suggestions for 18 Paths and 25 Strong Points to visit. The European Confederation of Linen & Hemp also put linen in the spotlight.

Tissu Premier succeeded in putting companies from the region of northern France in the limelight, with various local designers exhibiting at the Fashion Houses and Wrap me showcases. Hostesses at the trade show wore dresses designed by Orlane Herbin, a designer from Roubaix, a city situated near Lille.
