Tickets are selling fast as the eagerly awaited BrisFest 2010 is only a matter of days away from taking the city of Bristol by storm.
Boasting a top line-up of artists, and with excellent weather forecast for the weekend, many thousands are expected to attend the festival, which will take place on the 24th, 25th and 26th of September in Bristol City Centre.
The Lloyds Amphitheatre, where the main hub of the festival will be located, has already been taken over by a site building team of volunteers from across the Southwest. BrisFest is literally a community festival built by the people, for the people.
The BBC Performing Arts Fund is coming to Bristol and is offering all budding singers the chance to exercise their vocal chords during a flash choir performance! If you have a passion for show tunes bring your enthusiasm to our fun-filled event where members of the public have the opportunity to do a one-off performance at BrisFest on Sunday 26th September. There are just 60 places available for members of the public who can book in advance involvement is open to the over 18’s, and interested participants should email sara.khan@bbc.co.uk to book a place. The event will be led by Lisa Thorner, an experienced West End vocal coach.
Headliners for this year’s BrisFest include The Heavy, The Correspondents, Aquasky + The Ragga Twins and Blackout JA, as well as many, many more. Over 500 performers, including bands, DJs, artists, comedians, circus and cabaret performers will be offering a wide variety of entertainment for all the family.
With a total of nine stages, a kids area, a beer garden, local and world foods, stand-up comedy, street theatre, dance workshops, a Lanes bowling alley, music industry talks, boat parties, a silent rave and much more, BrisFest has something for everyone.
On Saturday the 25th celebrations will continue into the early hours of the morning with the almighty Rave-On-Avon after-party clubbing event also making a return to some of the finest clubs in Bristol.
BrisFest is a cutting edge music and arts festival designed to inspire passion and creativity in audiences of all ages.

BrisFest is organised by The Bristol Festival Community Group, set up in 2007 to launch a new community focused festival for the South West.
The BFCG were granted full charity status in 2008 (Registered Charity no. 1124722) and key to the group's aims are public consultation, participation and involvement, making the BrisFest the only city wide publicly directed event. As well as organising the festival, the group runs a volunteer training programme including mentoring, skills swaps and work experience enabling members of the community to gain valuable experience in the events and music industry.
The Bristol Festival 2008 was a resounding success with a brilliant weekend enjoyed by roughly fourteen thousand people, winning Venue magazine’s Top Event of 2008.
The Bristol Festival 2009 was another fantastic event with around fifteen thousand people attending the event from across the UK on the 18th– 20th September.
