Lost and Found, and Found Again
By Jennifer Diebold-Brown
This cat came back....
When Windamere the cat goes missing, it sets off a chain reaction of neighborhood events.
In one household, a young child — Windamere’s owner — is devastated. In another, just three blocks away, another young child is delighted at the prospect of having found a new pet. What happens in the 24 hours that follows is a lesson in doing the right thing — for the right reasons.
That’s the essence of Lost and Found, And Found Again, a book for children written by Jennifer Diebold-Brown. The author, a graduate of the University of Waterloo, is an animal-lover, and has been an animal-welfare advocate for much of her life. She’s had many pets herself and is now passing on her love for animals to her young daughter.
Lost and Found, And Found Again is a lovely little story with a moral. Young Abigail is the child who finds Windamere. She wants to keep the tiny black cat with the white nose, but she knows, deep in her heart, that the cat belongs to someone else.
Lynn is Windamere’s owner. She cries her heart out when she discovers that Windamere has gone missing, but everything turns out for the best when she and her pet are eventually reunited. And everything turns out well for Abigail too, when her Mom fills the void, left by Windamere, with a new friend.
Young children — especially children who are blessed with a pet — will love this book.
