Miki Organic launch “Miki sustainable-style UK” collection
The brainchild of Claire Watson, www.Miki.uk.com is a one-stop for all things Sustainable, Ethical, and Beautiful.
Having studied environmental biology at Portsmouth University, Claire developed her understanding of environmental issues that were to shape her future career.
“Being eco-friendly has the image of being a bit of drag – don’t do this, use less of that… I want to show people that it doesn’t have to be like that – we can source a gorgeous, stylish and sustainable alternative to almost anything” Claire Watson
Inspired by her studies, at just 23, she created Miki Organic to help promote the message of sustainable, ethical style.
To prove her point she is challenging artisans and designers in the UK to produce sustainable, stylish ethical items for Miki.
“Miki is about showcasing the best of sustainable style and celebrating what’s on offer in the UK and to provide opportunities to people who haven’t got the time or money to set up a website or run a business.”
Claire Watson
The first in the ‘Miki sustainable-style UK’ collection comes from the talented Southsea-born artist Carl Partridge who is currently studying at Central Saint Martins College.
These cool quirky unisex t-shirts are the first in the ‘’sustainable UK’ collection. Hand pulled silkscreen printed with eco dye on 100% organic cotton.
