Rader Entertainment Group Teams with National non-Profit for Pentagon Memorial Benefit
Washington D.C. - September 22, 2003 - With the 9/11 Pentagon Memorial Fund working hard to raise funds for the construction of their “crystal bench” memorial, two music organizations have come forward to lead in the fund raising efforts. Rader Entertainment Group™(REG), along with “Jammin’ For A Cause”™(JFC), a national non-profit organization, have teamed-up for a series of events aimed at helping to raise the targeted twenty million dollars needed to build a lasting tribute at the Pentagon site where one-hundred eighty-four men and women lost their lives in the worst terrorist attack on the US in the history of the nation.
Heather Donnelly, PR Director for Rader Entertainment Group, states, “We have two events being planned right now. The first is going to be a benefit concert at the Birchmere Concert Hall in Alexandria, Virginia on January 25th [2004]. With help from the Pentagon Memorial Fund we have successfully raised the money necessary to secure the hall.” The show will feature some local D.C. area talent along with some celebrity performances and a new CD single, Every Man’s Scars, is being released by Paul Rader that night with fifty percent of the proceeds from the sale of the CD being given to the fund.
The Birchmere, deemed America’s Legendary Music Hall, has helped launch the careers of some of the most notable names in music today including Dave Matthews and Shawn Colvin. Staging the concert at Birchmere is, “. . . very exciting!”, Rader admits, “. . . this is our company’s first opportunity to provide services to the public and being involved with “Jammin’ for a Cause” and the Pentagon Memorial Fund is something we’re very proud of. Being able to offer my music to this cause is an honor.”
Every Man’s Scars is Paul’s tribute to families and, in particular, fathers and sons. Rader says, “The song was written for my father several years ago and I wanted to offer the families of the victims something that has meant so much to me with the hope that it will be something they can lean on when their hearts are feeling heavy. It’s going to be hard for me to sing the song to them. I only hope I can make them proud.”
Donnelly explains that, “We’re encouraging many people to get involved and our goal is to raise thirty thousand dollars from the ticket sales at the Birchmere show...”, and then she adds, “...we’re withholding the names of the celebrities until all the details are in place but I can tell you that some very famous people are very passionate about this benefit because of what it stands for and the circumstances surrounding it.”
