Pakistan's Next Top Model makes waves across the globe

Pressbox (Press Release) - Next top model has finally reached our Country. It was just a matter of taking initiatives. Uzi Xaidi and Mehreen Syed have created and produced the show. Rumor has it, the panel of judges are Shahzad Raza of Athur Shahzad, Hasan Shehryar of HSY and the great Tariq Amin have made it to the famous show . Everyone is just hoping it is not another, "Ramp ki Rani," where they totally clobbered the image of Pakistan's fashion creativity and the essence of what it stands for now. Uzi Xaidi and Mehreen Syed, the great duo, have launched the first and yet to be known fashion academy in Pakistan, with a very powerful faculty on board.

I have tried many times to reach Uzi Xaidi, but he would not respond to my text messages. I have emailed him many times as well. But I believe they are taking a very low profile before they expose the show in full capacity, which is not a bad marketing gimmick. The teaser of next top model shows our very own Mehreen Syed asking potential applicants to apply and be on the top. No doubt she is very attractive and a successful business woman, but hosting a major show like this is a very serious question? There have been many blogs as to why put a current super model as a host? The answer is simple, Mehreen Syed is partnered with the brains behind every business move she makes now, and why would he not put her on the top? I am anxiously waiting for this show to be on air, so are thousands of people around the globe. Let's hope for the best, as our Country needs some boost in there reality shows as compared to Ramp ky Rani or Veets Supermodel. Speaking of Veet, Frieha Altaf is all set to produce her second super model show. A major Personality in Pakistan's Fashion Industry had commented sarcastically and in urdu which I cannot reveal the name,"Mehreen Syed ko bhi haq hai Producer aur host ban'ai ka, buss apne andaazay goof-thaku ko sahye tharkeey se ba-yaan kerna seekh le." After all, jealousy is bound to hit the Industry to see a small town girl making waves across the Country with hardwork and her partner by the side, or in the corner, protecting her interest in the best possible way. Last I heard, Uzi Xaidi has ties to the underworld in Canada, and had to skip town to make his presence feel in Pakistan. But again, this could all be rumors, but his style of associating with people, reminds me of a wise guy who has just made it to the rank of a captain in the mafia world. Finally, can Uzi Xaidi and Mehreen Syed really pull a quality formatted show they have promised and quoted on their teaser? Only time can tell.
