New Book on Theatre Brings Shakespeare to Life
Elizabethan Playwright Techniques Are Timeless Fundamentals in Theatre
While the world speeds down the information highway into the new millennium, how do the fascinating works of Shakespeare remain timeless? Marcus D. Gregio’s "Contemporary Shakespeare" is a book that presents a twenty-first-century view of the life of the Elizabethan playwright and his fundamentals that are still invaluable in modern theatre. Understanding how theatrical techniques in the Early Modern Period can sharpen the plays on today’s stages requires a grasp of how these techniques were effective during Shakespeare’s time. "Contemporary Shakespeare" does this and is excellent reading for everyone in the theatrical profession.
