Nadalia Bagratuni, an Armenia romance novelist, new book, Behold My Teacher’s Pet, was recently published by Lucy Rose Publishing.
Bagratuni dedicated this book to the millions of people who were killed in Armenian Holocaust.
Some people may say why worry about the Armenian Holocaust that took place in the early 20th century. However this week on Friday, Jan. 19, 2006, Hrant Dink was assassinated for his belief in the genocide. Mr. Dink had received multiple death threats from nationalists because of his views on the mass killings of Armenians during the final days of the Ottoman Empire. He was convicted in October 2005 for writing about the Armenian "genocide" in 1915, a claim denied by the authorities in Ankara. The issue is a sensitive subject in both Armenia and Turkey. Many Armenians have campaigned for the killings to be recognized internationally as genocide.
Bagratuni explained that normally you would not associated romance novels with political activism, but the importance of making a stand on this issue and pointing people to the truth of what happened is something than no single person should deny.
