For over the course of several years, from Jersey in the Channel Islands to Honolulu Hawaii, the point of inspiration has followed Alan Miller. The Church, it’s icons, the Mother with outstretched arms to a lone Cowboy in the high country of Colorado stirs the emotion of timeless beauty and traditions. Alan Miller has created 140 images entitled LIFESCAPE. Alan has placed 29 of the images to share with his audience and created a limited edition Giclee prints of 100 for each image.

The first image of the new online gallery of Alan Miller's photographs that visitors will come upon as they enter, is not just his latest, it is also the one of Alan's most tristful. Departing for a moment from Alan's portrait work and entering into the times that surround us. City of Heroes is a dynamic image shot at Arlington National Cemetery during Memorial Day observances. The silent white headstones echoing the impressive progression of our Nation's finest. A geometric pathway is presented as if acknowledging the matrix that each headstone is tied together. The weave of America's history from past to present is a tapestry found in this pattern as it stretches out to the horizon. Each headstone acts as one verse in the chorus of America's anthems.

In addition to Alan's stunning religious iconology, the scenic landscape New Mexico Storm, demands attention even on the web. It is a powerful image sweeping across the horizon in a timeless march, as if we have pierced the veil and are now standing in the records of time.

"It is essential to my existence that I do something related to my photography daily. If the business of photography interferes, it's as though I've neglected something. Yet, I don't like to speak too much about the work. Too many viewpoints as too many words spoil the mystery in the pictures. I just like the connections and juxtapositions that reflect our culture. Hopefully, the direct appeal of my work does not try too hard. As the voice of the images stand still and ask only, that we stop and look," said Miller.

Currently, the 140 Lifescape images are part of a planned tour for 2004 pending corporate sponsorship or gallery underwriting.
