Jon Balchin launches new exploration book 'To the Ends of the Earth'

Pressbox (Press Release) - Jon Balchin, has launched his new book, 'To the Ends of the Earth: Journeys of the Great Explorers'.

This compelling and superbly-illustrated text brings to life the feats of history’s most successful explorers. Covering thousands of years of geographical discovery, 'To the Ends of the Earth' unveils the secrets of the continents and oceans through the eyes of the pioneers who first 'brought' them to the wider world.

Jon, 29, said, “'To the Ends of the Earth' is a beautiful-looking book. It approaches exploration history in a manner which aims to be engaging without overwhelming.

“My primary concern was to make the text accessible to readers of all ages and interest.”

'To the Ends of the Earth' is Jon’s second book. It follows the international success of 'Science: 100 Scientists Who Changed the World'.

Second editions of 'Science' have now been published in the US and UK. A paperback version has been issued in Canada and the book has been translated into three languages for the German, Dutch and Croatian markets respectively.

Jon added, “I have been thrilled with the reception 'Science' has received. I hope 'To the Ends of the Earth' will do even better. Certainly it should have a similar international appeal.”

Born and raised in Grantham, Lincolnshire in the UK, Jon graduated from the University of London in 1997. He spent several years working in Information Technology before launching his writing career.

The twenty-nine year old is based in Surrey, England with his partner. His non-literary passions include playing and watching soccer, and travelling.
