“Independent Modern Folk Artist, Paul Rader, Releases CD Number Three”
Friday, September 5, 2003 – With the release of his first CD in six years and the third[full length] in his eleven year career as a regional solo acoustic artist, Paul Rader delivers yet another introspective, as well as, retrospective look into his sometimes comic, sometimes tragic, but always interesting life with Century Home. This thirteen song collection of sparsely produced tunes was recorded mostly with two Alverez Acoustic/Electric Guitars and with many of the tracks only having a single vocal track. Producing Century Home in this way, “allows the songs to speak for themselves. . .”, says Paul, “. . . it reminds me of the Stephen Stills’ classic, Alone.” As Rader puts it, “. . . [I wanted to] give the listener the impression that they’ve entered a time-machine. I tried to take them back thirty years and drop them at the feet of Neil [Young] or Joni [Mitchel]”. He added that Century Home might be, in short, “. . . the anti-hero, anti-folk, adult modern folk collection for all who experience life with the same intensity of an August and Everything After era Counting Crows fan”.
For over a decade Paul Rader has performed in island and resort communities throughout the Mid-West & East Coast of the USA. With shows in cities ranging from Cleveland to Key West, and many in between, his life-long dream of a career in music has become a reality and Smaul Records, his independent record label, continues to grow. Live, Paul delivers his originals from Century Home, two previous releases, and also material previously unreleased. In addition to the originals he draws tunes from a “cover song list” that is two hundred-plus titles long. Covering everything from Janis Joplin to Jimmy Buffet, Rader takes requests with the confidence as if the songs were his own and his talent for anticipating what the audience wants to hear provides the fans with the variety that they’ve come to expect from his shows. No two performances are ever the same and Rader stays busy with well over 175 dates per year that can be tracked using a calendar that’s updated daily on www.paulrader.com, his official website. Versatile, simplistic, and powerful, Paul Rader is always ready to play hard and do it well.
Smaul Records was established in 1995 with the release of Paul’s first full length CD, The Paul Rader Band. The company utilizes the world’s largest online distributor of independent music, CDBaby.com. Century Home, as well as the other releases in Paul’s catalog, can be safely purchased through the CDBaby site using any major credit card or by calling 1-800-BUY-MY-CD. Purchasers also have the option of using money orders or personal checks if they prefer to order by mail. Paul says, “. . . we chose CDBaby.com because of how respected they are in the industry. You can’t get any more safe or reliable!” For more information on this CD plus artist updates, free rare MP3 downloads, and more visit www.paulrader.com. # # #
