Grownupism!
1 Day, When I Grow Up!

I wuz´ sittin´ an´ stinkin´ ‘bout all the goin’s on lately!
Ev’rybodie is watchin’ T.V. and talkin’ ‘bout killin’ and evil and war!
The dragon teacher has been kinda quiet lately, as though she’s not sure wut to
make of it all. ‘Course, that sumtimes means less homework; that’s good, good,
good!
So, she asks us, wut we think of ol’ Stetson Hat and his crew and their goin’s
on, full steam after the dessert fella, “kickin’ ass” in ol’ Stetson Hat speak!
Well, looks like they bit off more than they cud chew and it’s not gonna be as
easy as ol’ Stetson Hat thought! Now, he got indigestion and the dessert fella,
kinda took some glide outta ol’ Stetson Hat’s stride!
‘Course now, they’re after and on Colin Powers’ case, for sendin’ ol’ Stetson
Hat’s crew to the U.N. in the furst place!
Seems like that’s wut you git sumtimes, when you trie and do the rite thing!?
My father said, ol’ Stetson Hat and his crew, Chiney, Rice, Wolfmowitz, Pirl and
Sic. Runningfield and the rest of ‘em, didn’t want to go the U.N. route anywho,
so now they need sumbodie to blame for their supercanfedent mistook and guess
who got ‘lected?
Sic. Runningfield wuz woofin’ ‘bout his new military stratigie, in comperison
with the Powers doktrin and now he’s tryin’ to put a best face on the dessert
fella’s gorilla moves, which are causin’ Runningfield to look kinda amateurish,
when it cums to fightin’ ‘stead of plannin’ and talkin’!
It’s easier to talk that talk, than tuh walk that walk!
Now, they gotta fine a way to do Powers doktrin, wile pretendin’ it’s
Runningfield.
It’s actin’ class 101, an’ let’s pretend we new it wuz gonna be tuf with the
dessert fella, from the git go!!
As my partnur Mike wud say, “now ain’t that sum stuff!”
We wuz also talkin’ ‘bout a ‘just war’ in class and the dragon said, she didn’t
know if this Stetson Hat mess, cud squeeze itself into the ‘just war’ insides.
Too many ruff edges for a smooth fit!
So now, we got trouble in the dessert, trouble in Korea an’ trouble with the
secun’ fella in the dessert and plus this dude’s not too gud at listenin’ to
U.N. resolutions either!
My grandmama used to say, “sooner uh later, a hard head makes a sof’ and soe’
behine!”
My grandmama always had a way with words and wisdom too!
My big brother is 18 yers old and my father tol’ him, he better stay in school
and out of the army, ‘caus ol’ Stetson Hat is tryin’ to take over the wurl, at a
lotta sumbodie else’s expense and health!
I guess ol’ Stetson Hat is too ‘portant or scared to git shot at!? But other
folks, well that’s o.k.!!
Sum of my partnurs got familie in the militarie and nobodie wants to git shot at
for sumbodie else’s nonsense!
I guess my grandmama wuz rite, but like the dragon says sumtimes — when one
sumbodie makes a dudu, ev’rybodie gits punished!
Ol’ Stetson Hat an’ his crew shoulda thought uh all that, befor’ they startin’
chasin’ the dessert fella.
But like our preacher says, when you think you’re Jesus or sumbodie like that,
you’re bound to make mistakes!
We are sure shocked, but not the leas’ bit awed!
So now, a lotta folks are in trouble and me and my partnurs and our families and
the dragon, all hope this bad dream passes soon.
When we wake up, it’ll still be bad, but at least it’s over!

Erwachsensein!
Eines Tages, wenn ich erwachsen werde!

Ich war am Sitz´n und Stink´n üba alles, was grad so passiert is’!
Jeder kuckt Fernseh’n und redet üba’s Töten und Böses und Krieg!
Der Drachen von Lehrerin war irgenwie ruhig in letzter Zeit, als ob se nich‘
sicher is‘, was se mit dem allen machen soll. ‘türlich heiß’ das manchma’
weniger Hausaufgab’m, das is’ gut, gut, gut!
So also fragt se uns, was wir üba olle Texashut und seine Truppe denk‘n und ihr
Ding, so volle Kanne hinter dem Wüstentypen her zu sein, “in ‘n Hintern treten“,
wie olle Texashut sagt!
Nun, sieht aus, als hätt‘n se den Mund zu voll genomm‘ und es wird nich‘ so
leicht, wie olle Texashut dachte! Jetz‘ hat er Magengrummeln und der Wüstentyp
hat was an Schwung aus Texashuts Fahrt genomm‘!
‘türlich, jetz‘ sind se alle hinter Colin Powers her und an ihm dran, weil er
die Texashuttruppe zur U.N. geschickt hat, erstma‘!
Scheint, als ob de das davon hast, wenn de das Richtige vasuchst und tust!?
Mein Vater sagt, olle Texashut und seine Truppe, Scheini, Reis, Wolfistwitz,
Pörl und Sekritär Renninsfeld und der Rest von den‘ wollten nich‘ auf’e U.N.
Schiene mit, sowieso, und nun brauch’n se einen, der für ihr‘n supersicher
Missgriff den Kopf hinhält, und rate ma‘, wer gewählt wurde?
Sekritär Renninsfeld war am Angeb’n mit seiner neuen Militärstrategie in
Vagleich mit der Powers Doktrin und jetz‘ vasucht er sein Gesicht zu behalt’n
gegen die Gorillaaktion‘ von dem Wüstentypen, die den Renninsfeld irgendwie
amatöricht ausseh’n lass’n, wenn’s ums Kämpfen geht statt ums Planen und Reden!
Es ist leichter Reden zu reden als Taten zu tun!
Jetz‘ müss’n se ‘nen Weg find’n, die Powers Doktrin zu mach’n, und gleichzeitig
so tun, als ob’s Renninsfeld is‘. Schauspielklasse 101 is‘ angesagt, und lass
uns so tun, als ob wir wussten, dass es mit dem Wüstentypen vom Start weg taff
werd’n wird!!
Wie mein Kumpel Mike sag’n würde, “das is‘ ma‘ ‘n starkes Stück!“
Wir hab’m auch üba einen gerechten Krieg inner Klasse gesproch’n und der Drachen
sagte, sie wüsste nich‘, ob man diese Patsche von olle Texashut in die
Gerechter-Krieg-Kiste quetsch’n könnte.
Zu viele scharfe Kanten für’n lockeren Sitz!
So, und jetz‘ hab’m wir Ärger inner Wüste, Ärger in Korea, Ärger mit dem ander’n
Typen inner Wüste und noch dazu is‘ der Heini auch nich‘ sehr gut im Annehmen
von U.N. Resolutionen!
Meine Großmama sagte imma, “früha oder speta macht ‘n harter Schädel ’n weichen
und wunden Hintern!“
Meine Großmama hatte imma dieses Ding mit den Worten und mit der Weisheit auch!
Mein großer Bruder is’ 18 Jahre alt und mein Vater sagte ihm, er soll besser
inner Schule bleib’m und weg von der Armee, weil olle Texashut vasucht, die Welt
einzunehmen, auf ‘ne Menge Kosten und Gesundheit von irgendwem anders!
Ich denk’ ma’, olle Texashut is’ zu wichtig oder hat Angst, beschossen zu
werd’n!? Aber and’re Leute, ja, das is’ okay!!
‘n paar von mein’ Kumpels hab’m Familie inner Armee und keiner will beschossen
werd’n für irgendjemand anderes Unsinn!
Ich denk‘ ma‘, meine Großmama hatte Recht, aber wie der Drachen manchma’ sagt —
wenn ein Irgendwer Blödsinn macht, werd’n alle bestraft!
Olle Texashut und seine Truppe hätten daran denk’n soll’n, bevor die anfingen,
den Wüstentypen zu jagen.
Aber, wie unser Pastor sagt, wenn du denkst, du bist Jesus oder so jemand, dann
is‘ klar, dass du Fehler an dir hast!
Wir sind geschockt, aber wir sind nich‘ ‘n Fitzelchen eingeschüchtert!
Und jetz‘ hab’m ‘ne Menge Leute Schwierigkeiten und ich und meine Kumpels und
unsere Familien und der Drachen, alle hoffen, dass dieser böse Traum bald vorbei
is‘.
Wenn wir aufwach’n, isses imma noch schlimm, aber wenigstens isses vorbei!
Ich fühl‘ mich müde und traurig.
