Closure of Olan Mills Leaves Local People Without Christmas Presents

Creating Smiles, was shocked to learn of the decision to place local photography firm, Olan Mills into
administration just before Christmas, potentially leaving thousands of Northamptonshire families
without special photos intended as gifts for Christmas Day.
Speaking of the closure, Creating Smiles’ partner Andrew Griffiths, said he that he felt extremely
sorry for the staff of the company who have lost their jobs just before Christmas; “As fellow
photographers, we’re always sad to hear of colleagues closing down or losing their jobs, especially
at this time of year. Our best wishes are with them”.
Fellow partner, Colin Ward, extended his sympathies to Olan Mills’ customers; “So many people
want to give an extra special present at this time of year, and portraits are an incredibly personal gift
for loved ones. I’m very sad to hear that so many of Olan Mills’ customers in this area are not going
to be able to give that special gift this year”.
Andrew added, “As a local company, we would like to extend our seasonal goodwill to those affected
by their closure and do our best to help make this Christmas special again”.
Creating Smiles is offering a free photoshoot and half price print which will be ready in time for
Christmas, to anyone who has lost out as a result of Olan Mills’ closure. Alternatively, those affected
can book a gift voucher for a New Year sitting, which will also be free.
Speaking of their offer, Colin Ward said, “We want to try to make sure that as many people who have
lost their special photos have something to open on Christmas morning to go some way to make up
for it.
