Businesses turning to faxing as a way around postal strike

Pressbox (Press Release) - Dear Sir

As industrial action by postal workers enters its 15th week, the impact is being felt by businesses of all sizes. Even with a speedy resolution, backlogs will impact businesses well into the New Year. If they hope to keep their own operations running smoothly, these businesses need alternative ways to send and receive business critical documents, such as offers of employment, order confirmations and proofs of purchase.

Email is an obvious solution, right down to sending Christmas cards. However, email can't be used in all instances, for example, where the recipient doesn't have an email account or a document requires a physical signature.

Ultimately there are three solutions; to hand deliver, to use a costly courier services or to fax.

Yes. Fax. Thought by many to be obsolete, fax is still widely in use, more often by some of the UK's largest and most sophisticated organisations. Evolved from its original machine-to-machine format, today's fax-to-email or email-to-fax services cannot be beaten on cost, reliability or environmental credentials. There are no start-up costs - you don't need a fax machine to send or receive faxes! And there are no postal costs - financial or environmental.

Pay-per-use fax services allow users to send and receive faxes via email accounts or to a secure online server where documents can be picked up via any internet connection, any time of the day or week. They can be read on-screen and stored electronically, introducing fail-safe security while greatly reducing paper costs.

The good news for businesses is that when the postal strike is resolved, they will be established fax users who will continue to save time and money.
