Budding author’s journal enjoys instant success

Writer, Julia Buckley, set up a small personal website and blog charting her progress with her first novel just three months ago and has been astounded to see the hits for her blog rocket to over 100 hits per day.
Bestselling author, Kate Harrison, had this to say about Julia’s blog when linking to it from her own site: “…cool website by writer Julia Buckley. She has a sharp style in her blog and the synopsis of her novel is intriguing. I will be watching her progress with interest.”
Kate is just one of a number of well known authors offering praise on the web for Julia’s site.
Featured as an upcoming new writer in Writing Magazine last month, Julia is enjoying the publicity her site has earned but, as a little known writer, is a little puzzled by all the attention.
Julia set up the site mainly to use as marketing tool once the book was finished and decided to add a weblog as an afterthought. She planned to keep it as an occasional journal to make a record of her experiences writing her first book. However, Julia has found herself writing candidly about all aspects of her life as a freelance writer and the amazing amount of hits, comments and encouraging emails she’s received through the site have inspired her to update the blog almost daily.
Julia’s novel-in-progress under the working title of ‘Dark Matter’ is set in an exclusive psychiatric hospital and follows the experiences of patients with bizarre psychological conditions.
