Five Bachelors Enter Match.com Love Bubble with
Aim of Finding True Love


London – 10th February, 2006 – This Valentine’s, 37 year old Darren Thatcher has taken to a three metre tall transparent bubble in a bid to attract the woman of his dreams.

Darren is one of five “Bubble Boys” who have agreed to enter the Match.com Love Bubble in Selfridges’ flagship London store between 10th and 14th February. Darren, who works for an investment bank in the city, will spend the day being wooed online by single shoppers looking to add their ideal man to their shopping bags.

Darren and his fellow Bubble bachelors are all members of Match.com, the world’s largest online dating site who, with Selfridges, are offering shoppers an all expenses paid date if they manage to win the bachelor’s heart online.

Darren is excited by the prospect of being surrounded by women viewing his dating potential. He says: “Single life is fun but I miss the companionship and friendship of someone close. I have been on Match.com for a few weeks and have met lots of great women but I’m hoping that being in the Love Bubble will encourage even more women to drop me a line”.”

Darren is looking for several qualities in his ideal partner. He says: “I am young at heart and would love to meet someone my age also young at heart. Finding someone who is sensitive and understanding yet outgoing and sociable would be an ideal match for me. ”


Darren will be joining four other guys, each taking a day in the Love Bubble.
The Love Bubble can be found in Selfridges’ Valentine’s section situated on the ground floor. Selfridges’ shoppers can use the special in-store Match.com connection to email the Bubble Boys with their impressive best lines and why they would make a perfect date. And, for all Selfridges shoppers, Match.com is offering a 5 day free trial to their site, which is especially great news for female shoppers who may be on the search for love.

Each bachelor will choose an eligible woman for an all expenses paid date that will take place on 18th February. The date will include makeovers for the ladies, shopping vouchers for the men and a toast of champagne before the couples set out on lunch dates at one of five of London’s top restaurants, including Taman gang and Claridge’s, followed by a romantic cruise along The Thames to view the Capital’s breathtaking architecture.
