Before the new millennium, the independent Soul and Jazz culture was more appreciated in foreign lands than in it’s own place of birth. Fused with the soulful elements of independent Jazz, Funk, Spoken word and R&B, G.M.R. Music Corp. proudly announces the coming of the labels first various artist project of it‘s kind , My Jazzy Soul Volume 1.

Currently being distributed as an Mp3 album on websites like itunes, cdbaby and napster, My Jazzy Soul is the brainchild of producer and owner of G.M.R. Victor Valente, a former 80’s Hip Hop DJ who later studied and reinvented himself into a skillful jazz saxophonist. In honor of the artistry of today’s independent music culture, Valente shines the spotlight on ten of the most soulful independent musicians today.

Victor introduces volume 1 with Philadelphia’s spoken word artist Demetrius Ford, New York City based saxophonist Melvin Smith vocalist Anthony Dixon and Brown Baby Girl featuring the sexy, rich vocals of Lorenda Robinson singing her exclusive gift to the My Jazzy Soul project.

Changing directions from the big city jazz scene, Victor Valente introduces some South coast Massachusetts flavor to the project with his own music, bassist Joseph Martin, Vocalist Candida Rose and saxophonist Bryon Steele who features vocals and guitar by Curtis Jones formerly of the early 80’s group Slave who were know for there classic funk single “Just a touch of love“. Stretching further north Victor also adds Canadian Soul singer Sharon Brooks to the roster making My Jazzy Soul even more of a and treat to anyone’s Collection.
