Two Back-To-Back Plays Of Misogyny Prevalent In The Indian Society.

New Delhi, 17th July 2019: ACTOR UNVEILED, a Creative Arts Theatre Society, will be presenting two Back-To-Back Drama Plays on emotional & physical abuse of women and misogyny prevalent in the Indian Society irrespective of the class, this Sunday i.e. on 21st July, 4 PM staged at Canvas Laugh Club in DLF Mall Of India. The objective of the presentation is also to promote local artists.
Staged at one of India’s biggest stages for live-entertainment, the Canvas Laugh Club, the two Back-To-Back Drama Plays will highlight the various forms of emotional and physical violence against women and evidences of misogyny prevalent in the Indian society. Ms Rekha Sharma Chairperson, National Commission for Women, will serve as the Guest of Honour for the program.
Kanu Priya, Founder of Actor Unveiled and also an internationally acclaimed Actress, Host & Entrepreneur describes ‘The two Drama Plays themed on violence against women take a modern dig on the misogyny prevalent in our society, where the over ambition and the choice of profession of characters lead to their abuse both physically and emotionally. We are also delighted to have Ms Rekha Sharma with us for the evening.’
The first play, THE WEB, will take you to a suburban area, where the over-ambition of the character 'Mukta' results in the disruption of peace and harmony of her happy marriage and life. The second play, INTIMATE LIAISONS showcases the hypocritical and insensitive nature of privileged upper class as the business tycoon is accused of rape, by the character, an escort named ‘Rani’.
