Pressbox (Press Release) - Pembroke Dental in the heart of Dublin’s Ballsbridge prides itself on its dynamic, state-of-the art practice dedicated to providing healthy teeth and a great smile.
The practice is situated in a central position opposite The American Embassy and provides premium dentistry in a contemporary and relaxed environment that puts patients at their ease as soon as they walk through the door.
The dedicated dental team led by principal dentist Dr David Keenan features dentists, hygienists, and specialists across general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry providing teeth whitening and straightening, facial aesthetics, oral surgery and dental implants.
A whiter smile is one of the most effective and quickest ways to improve your appearance. Stains build up on the teeth with age, smoking and popular food and drinks we all love such as coffee, tea, cola and red wine. Certain medications such as antibiotics can also cause darker stains.
Teeth whitening is one of the most popular dental procedures and it’s a great way to give you a boost and feel more confident.
Pembroke dental uses Phillips Zoom that is a fast and efficient way of taking your teeth up to six shades lighter in under an hour with little or no sensitivity. Bespoke moulds are made following an initial appointment to make sure that teeth and gums are suitable for the treatment. The custom-made trays can be used at home for top-ups when needed.

Invisible Braces
If you have always wanted a perfect, straight smile but don’t want to stand out in the crowd and let everyone know w`ith a visible fixed metal brace then you can take advantage of a revolutionary new way to straighten your teeth using an invisible brace.
The system used a series of clear aligners which are moulded to fit your mouth perfectly and gradually apply pressure to your teeth to reposition them over time.
Invisible braces are now leading the way in cosmetic dentistry solutions for a better smile. The brace is sometimes called Invisalign or Clearstep.
The see-through aligners will gradually shift the position of your teeth over a period of three or four weeks. This is followed by a new set of aligners until over weeks or months your teeth straighten into their ideal position.
You will need to wear the aligners for 20-22 hours each day and remove them for eating, brushing and flossing.
Retainers
Once you have achieved the smile you always wanted it’s important to maintain the position of the newly aligned teeth with either a fixed or removable retainer. Essix retainers are removable retainers are made of transparent plastic and moulded to the shape of your mouth. The retainer is usually worn at night for nine months to a year. Eventually it need only be worn once or twice a week.
A fixed or bonded retainer uses a thin metal wire to keep the teeth in place and only takes a few minutes. One advantage is they are invisible to others as they are positioned on the inside surfaces of your teeth. A further reason to consider them is it removes the need to remember to use a standard retainer.
Dental Implants
Pembroke Dental Ballsbridge believe everyone deserves a beautiful smile and if you have gaps in your teeth a more permanent solution can be found in dental implants. The jaw bone needs to be strong and healthy for the procedure and so initial tests are carried out at the practice. If there is not enough bone to support an implant then a bone graft may be needed before placing implants.
