GrayMatter, a leader in airport-focused analytics, big data and data science solutions, announced that it has successfully implemented real-time point of sales (PoS) data integration and commercial analytics across all concessionaires at the Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (KIAB), for Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) – operator of KIAB. The solution is intended to provide a better passenger shopping experience at the Airport through targeted positioning of products and relevant offers. The solution delivers data-driven business insights around performance of F&B outlets, retail stores, duty-free shops, product categories, products as well as around customer preferences.
The scope of the engagement includes real-time, non-intrusive extraction of sales data from POS terminals at the airport stores using Store Sense™, GrayMatter’s proprietary IoT device. Data extracted from Store Sense interfaces with BIAL’s billing system and is further used for income computation that forms the basis for invoicing concessionaires. Data from store sense is also analyzed to enable decision making and reporting using state of the art data warehousing, dashboarding and visualization techniques.
Mr. Kenneth Guldbjerg, Chief Commercial Officer, BIAL said, “KIAB works with partners such as GrayMatter to offer our passengers a technologically-superior and seamless Airport experience. I look forward to the envisaged outcomes from this implementation, including the expected transparency that it will lend to retail revenue reporting. I am excited with the possibility of significant value addition through the system that would enable BIAL’s Commercial Team to receive invaluable customer insights to aid decision making.”
Mr. Vikas Gupta, CEO, GrayMatter said “I am proud to have our home airport as one of our esteemed customers. Making in India for the globe by collaborating with BIAL to innovate and implement our unique product platform is especially gratifying and rewarding.”
