Expat celebrity hairdresser’s motivation book

Hairdresser to the stars, Thomas McMillan, is starting to cut it in a new profession as a motivational author with the publication of his second guide.
The 53-year-old, who is now based in Spain, has a client list ranging from Royals to international footballers.
But, with the release of his second self-help journal, it is in a different field where he is now having the biggest impact.
Following the success of the five-star-rated Just for the Day, which was released in 2019, Thomas has returned with a second volume of thought-provoking quotations and motivational pushes in the right direction.
3 Little Words has already been met with critical acclaim - being described by reviewers as ‘amazing’, ‘inspirational’, and ‘[I’m] obsessed with it’.
Thomas, who started writing seriously around eight years ago, said: “I wrote 3 Little Words during Covid when we were forced to stay home.
“I think this was a time when we all needed some inspiration.
“The people who have read the new book liked that each quote contains only three words, making them short, punchy, and quirky.
“I don't believe anyone else has ever written motivational quotes this way.”
While 3 Little Words offers a short quote to introduce each of the year’s 365 days, it also provides further encouragement to seize each opportunity and face up to challenges.
Thomas’s guide also provides regular blank sections for adding short-term and longer-term goals which can be regularly reviewed.
And it is intended for users of 3 Little Words to reflect on the completion of the book as a diary of improvement and gains.
Thomas, whose favourite authors include Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Tony Robbins and Peter Swanston, hopes his latest release will have a similar impact as his initial guide.
He added: “One reader has bought around 30 copies of Just for the Day to give out to her friends and family.
“I sincerely hope that this latest journal will help lift readers each morning, in a similar way, or help them reset at the end of their day when they have a time for reflection.”
Thomas currently frees up around three days each week of his busy hairdressing schedule to spend time writing.
