World’s Largest Impact Platform Announces Awards to Honour Water Warriors

The Better India (www.thebetterindia.com), the world’s largest positive and solutions-based content-driven impact platform, today announced ‘India’s Water Warriors,’ an initiative to honour unsung heroes for exemplary work in water conservation, harvesting, rejuvenation, restoration of water bodies, water crisis management, water planning, sewage treatment, etc.
Why Water Warriors? Water is a commodity as precious as gold in India. We make up 18% of the world’s population but have only 4% of its water resources – making our nation among the most water-stressed in the world. Climate change is likely to exacerbate this pressure, even as the frequency and intensity of floods and droughts in the country increase. This is why, for over a decade, The Better India has constantly been shining the spotlight on India’s greatest #WaterWarriors. These individuals bring people together to solve water problems, seek inclusive and equitable solutions, go “above and beyond,” never give up, and inspire and help others make a difference. This award will formally recognise their invaluable contribution.
The Better India’s readers and jury members will together choose India’s Water Warrior. The winner will be announced during a virtual event organised by The Better India. The winner will be presented an award certificate, an award citation and receive special coverage on The Better India, an opportunity to develop a course related to Water on The Better Academy (https://www.thebetter.academy/) , and a guest invite to The Better India Summit 2022-23.
How can I nominate a Water Warrior? On the India’s Water Warrior website, (https://campaign.thebetterindia.com/indiaswaterwarrior/), fill in the nomination form to nominate yourself or individuals you know, such as leaders from organisations, startup founders, or anyone you think worthy of recognition for their efforts towards water management. Nominees can be of any age, but have to be Indian citizens. You may nominate more than one person. Fill out a new form for every nomination. The nominations will start on 9 August 2022 and close on 15 August 2022.
