The Crème de La Blend Championships kicks off Round 7 with tribute to Marcus Intalex

Crème de la Blend; a fairly run, drum and bass mixing competition with a growing following, has dedicated round 7 to the memory of Marcus Intalex.
May 2022 marked 5 years since the tragic passing of Marcus Kaye, better known by his stage name Marcus Intalex. Throughout his career, Marcus was a huge inspiration and talent and his work and reputation earned him a spot as a true drum & bass pioneer.
CDLB founder Tom, stage name Flewid MC / DJ Fluent said “When it was time for track selection for round 7 of the competition it seemed a perfect tribute to use one of Marcus Intalex’s tracks. "
Tom continued: " I believe that everyone needs an outlet to express themselves and during the pandemic it was clear that people were feeling isolated, and this was having profound effects on their happiness & wellbeing. We wanted to redress that in an accessible, effort effective way. We wanted to build something allowing people to demonstrate their creativity & talent in an environment based on interaction, inclusivity, creativity, and collaboration. Where egos are left at the door.
With the help of Marc Ramshaw aka DJ C4 (Creative design) and Sharon Holloway (Marketing & Promotion) We are doing just that, and the result has been humbling. Let's evolve "
The crème de la blend championships brings together like-minded D&B and Jungle selectors, fanatics and ravers in a community based on the principles of positivity, creativity, collaboration, and inclusivity. The competition is open to everyone, and only the top 3 entries have their identities revealed.
Each month a new tune is selected, and the aim of each round is to create and submit their best mix for the selected tune within the 2-week timeframe.
Each mix must be 2 minutes or under, and a maximum of 3 decks.
The submissions are listed anonymously on a public SoundCloud playlist, and a voting poll launched to decide the winners.
