Ray Caleb is a charismatic politician and a successful, wealthy entrepreneur. He was elected as the mayor of Renovo.
Ray has a Sephardi Jewish background. Being a believer, but not really practicing his religion, he is a convinced Zionist. Ray has strong ties with the land of Israel. As the CEO of a petrol company, he also possesses share holds in Israel.
Ray is happily married with Taly, a wife to die for, and 3 children.
With his strong and positive character, the hero of this story seems unbreakable...until the hatred of an Jewish orthodox community comes into play.
Richard Trebbel, some red-haired guy in his twenties, who is a member of the city council and the owner of the media Northern News, has strong ties with the Jewish orthodox community.
He constantly uses his cheap gossip media to put some dirt upon Ray Caleb. His ultimate goal is to destroy Ray's career and to make him look like a criminal.
Ray's principal defect is his short temper, especially when he is confronted with the lies of his enemies. It sometimes puts him into uncomfortable situations. Trebbel always knows how to push the button to induce a tamper tantrum on Ray's side. The red-haired devil's evil plan is also to undermine Ray's marriage. Trebbel, whose nickname is 'Trouble Maker'' finds a few accomplices at his local religious community to break Ray's career.
Managing to falsify Ray's accountability, Trebbel is responsible of Ray's arrest and of the investigation against him for corruption. Of course, Trebbel jubilates when Ray is suspended from his functions as a mayor due to a criminal investigation.
Unexpectedly, Richard finds an ally in the person of Lisa, a pretty blonde leftist journalist who works as a correspondent for an American News Agency. She usually is a nice person, but she became pretty much obsessed with Ray Caleb who is a pretty much convinced and full-mouthed rightist. His style and his 'arrogance' tend to anger the young lady who decides to come to Renovo and to plot against him with the help of Trebbel.
Ray is very much affected by all the events and he is trying to assemble as many proofs as possible of his innocence. One evening, he decides to meet up with Dora Higgins, his secretary to get some concrete help. Dora has access to all the relevant files, so she will be a precious ally . Inside of a Café, both protagonists discuss the details.
Before leaving, Ray hugs Dora to thank her for his help. Lisa happens to be at the Café at the same time. She mischievously takes a picture of Ray hugging his secretary. She prompts to send the picture to Trebbel.
The financial scandal is followed by a private scandal. Taly is unable to stand the pressure. She leaves her husband with their youngest son for NYC and decides to file for divorce.
This is a long descent to hell for Ray. He is left alone without his job and with a broken heart.
But Ray Caleb is a fighter. He is determined to prove his innocence and will learn to live without Taly. He finds a lot of strength in his daily jogging sessions.
One day, he encounters Lisa while running. Both of them exchange glances and Lisa is not so happy to see him. Out of anger, she shouts out his name.
But the second encounter is different and will mark a turning point into her life. Glancing intensely into Ray's eyes while Ray is glancing back, she falls in love with him at first sight. Her emotions are so strong that she realizes she never felt this type of love for anybody else.
Little by little, Ray and Lisa exchange on their running sessions and become friends.
Lisa is secretly in love and she is dreaming about a positive outcome with the man of her dreams. She cuts all ties with Trebbel and decides to conquer Ray's heart. One day, the magic happens. Ray and Lisa become a couple.
In the meantime, Ray is officially declared innocent of all charges of corruption.
The plot thickens with Taly's visit to Renovo and her jealousy when she discovers Ray has a new girlfriend. Taly is trying to use Mark as a tool to separate Ray and Lisa.
Against all odds, and despite the fact that Ray discovers Lisa's implication into Trebbel's devilish plot, Ray and Lisa end up together as husband and wife.
