Sheffield writer’s credible Intelligent Design theory

Added: (Fri Dec 03 2021)

Pressbox (Press Release) - For almost two centuries the argument between evolution and creation has raged.
But now a graduate from Sheffield has developed her own credible theory – Intelligent Design.
Carole Virgo provides a convincing argument in her new book, A Question of Science: Darwinism and Creation – and are they Compatible.
The 56-year-old, who is a self-employed tutor, admits her fascination with where we come from began decades ago when she was at university.
Carole explained: “During my study of Evolutionary Theory, I was left with more questions than answers, and eventually concluded, that in the light of discoveries in the fields of Biochemistry and Genetics made since the 1950s, the theory simply didn’t work as an adequate explanation for the origin and diversification of life.
“I decided then that I would research this issue and one day write down my findings for others to consider.
“Science is about exploration of the truth and interpreting the facts in the light of the knowledge we currently possess, rather than just accepting a long-standing idea as fact.
“We have to be prepared to continuously re-evaluate the evidence in order to truly search for truth.
“I believe that modern Darwinism does not hold under scrutiny as an adequate explanation for our origins, which leaves us no option but to consider the argument for Intelligent Design.”
Ever since the young Charles Darwin returned from the Galapagos aboard HMS Beagle to publish On the Origins of Species, scientists and evangelists have been at loggerheads.
But what if, as Carole believes, neither are entirely right or wrong.
Within the pages of A Question of Science: Darwinism and Creation – and are they Compatible a middle ground is achieved, which is both believable and compelling.
The mother-of-two added: “That Natural Selection occurs is clearly true, but can we go beyond what is observable and repeatable to provide a reasonable explanation for the progression of life right from the development of the first cells to the complexity of higher organisms?
“If the science doesn’t stand up to scrutiny, then what is the alternative and are there Theistic implications for us as a species on planet earth?
“In A Question of Science: Darwinism and Creation – and are they Compatible, I seek to explore the more recent scientific research, conscious that science itself is continually evolving, to offer you, the reader, a potentially more plausible explanation for our human existence.
“I believe I also give readers hope that we have more purpose than that which simply arises from random chance acting on a ‘bag of molecules’ gradually improved over time!”
Carole overcame meningitis as a baby.
But she suffered hearing damage caused by the treatments, and was taught to speak, read and write by her primary-school-teacher mother.
Carole, who lists the likes of Lewis Carroll, CS Lewis and Harper Lee amongst her favourite authors, was also encouraged to love reading from an early age.
As well as tutoring, she is a voluntary teaching assistant.
