Pressbox (Press Release) - JNU Admission 2021-2022 may begin from 1st August, 2021
Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) admission 2021-2022 may begin from 1st August, 2021 with the commencement of JNU Entrance Exam (JNUEE). Due to COVID – 19 pandemic admissions are likely to be completed by November, 2021. JNU admission process will be computer-based exam/online exam.

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is going to introduce six new PhD programs in the field of engineering, Microsystems, national security, and systems medicine.

Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar – JNU vice-chancellor said that approx. 3,016 candidates will be offered admission in postgraduate, undergraduate and PhD programs for the 2021-2022 academic session. Entrance test might be organized in the last week of September, 2021.

Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar – “The computer-based JNUEE will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and tentatively, it will be in the fourth week of September. However, the NTA has to give us the final schedule.”

He added that it all depends on the COVID-19 situation and we are fully trying to conduct admission from 1st August, 2021.

Last year JNU has introduced 5-year integrated program in Ayurveda Biology with total number of 25 seats. This year we are also hoping to fill all the vacant seats for admission 2021-2022.

Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar stated that JNU is planning to offer admission in UG (undergraduate) programs in Hindi medium or language in line with NEP (National Education Policy). It is not yet confirmed but this matter is under discussion by the Committee on NEP in the university.

Kumar also said that it has been approved by the academic council in line with the New Education Policy that there will be no admissions for M.Phil program this year.

JNU vice-chancellor – Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar said that on reopening of the campus the continuation of physical classes and academic activities in the campus will be considered according to the relevant notices and guidelines set by the government.
