Vocalist Joe Flynt states: “The whole band is excited to be releasing another record. It's been 5 years or so since we did the 'Into The Red' E.P. and a lot has changed with the band. We almost called it a day a while back but then I got a call from another band from the area to fill in on vocals. While I was out on the road with them my creative energy started to flow again. When I got back from the road, I was so fired up and ready to get back at it I called the guys up and we started to finish writing and recording 'Twisted Road'. It all came together pretty quickly once everyone was back in band mode. I feel like we’ve put together something really special, and I'm looking forward to hearing what the fans think about it. We're all so proud of this album. It’s definitely a big jump from our previous efforts and the material is so much stronger now.”

We released Strip Rock Roll back in 08/09 and its such a great record but the new material is just so much more. Asphalt Valentine is based in Atlanta, GA and got its start in the early 2000's. They signed with Chavis Records now HighVolMusic and released their debut Strip Rock Roll in 2008. The band toured the U.S. with Mama Kin from Sweden on the 'Summer of Sin Tour'. In 2013 the band self released their 'Into The Red' E.P. as well as released a video for the track 'Living Dreams'. In 2015 the band began working on what is now 'Twisted Road' and released a video for the track 'The Only'. before going on hiatus. 'The Only' was originally conceived when the band was approached by author/film maker/adventurist Joey Shonka to write some music for one of his documentary-style films. Shonka, a life long friend of vocalist Joe Flynt, specifically wanted something to accompany his latest movie about his years long journey across the entire Andes Mountains range in South America - a journey he did alone. 'The Only' conveys the physical and emotional toll of isolation, endless perseverance, and the spiritual connection one must make within themselves to strive onward in one of the most formidable environments on planet Earth. The video contains footage of the recording sessions as well as clips from Shonka's latest self-shot movie 'The Shonkadventure'.
With renewed excitement and energy the band returned to work on the recordings and as previously announced, Asphalt Valentine signed with HighVolMusic in 2019 before putting the final touches on the album. 'Twisted Road' was recorded at Dirty Little Secret Studios in Atlanta, GA and is self produced. Mixing is being handled by Andy Reilly (Asia, Praying Mantis, UFO) at Muse Productions also in Atlanta, GA. The first single and title track 'Twisted Road' hits radio this week and is being quarterbacked by Jody Best of Best Bet Promo.

All attention on the scar, once more: I woke up with an urge to cut my face this morning, just a line here or there. The itchy pains and weeping wound that come with it put me off. I hate myself and the situation I’m in. Still, I never looked tough enough to be left in peace, never looked like I’d fight for it with all of my energy. Perhaps I should acquaint some people with some harsh facts, get my scars the easy way and have the satisfaction of earning them publicly. I’m fit enough to do it, to hold my own, but then what? The scar-face look is hardly going to boost my job prospects, get me into some halfway decent office post. No, this is wrong: I won’t live long enough for such things to matter. I have enough to involve myself with until I can earn my title and carry the scars remotely through some obscure, critical analysis of another fool’s pain and suffering.

“I don’t believe in love, Mr Loring, it only brings heartache,” she replied cynically. Clare felt a deep pain in her chest. Julie had died in vain and all hope of ever liking this man had vanished with his callous words.
“Well, now, we have agreed on a course of action I will call tomorrow and bring someone to babysit while we shop for a ring and some necessary items.” Looking down at her slacks, he added, “I can’t have my bridge looking like a boy on our wedding day.”
Clare cut short her retort as he wagged his finger and walked slowly towards her. She felt like a rabbit caught in a trap and could neither move nor drag her gaze from his face as he reached and pulled her onto her feet. She didn’t struggle as he pulled her to him.
Looking into her eyes, he murmured, “If we are going to be married, we might as well act as if we are happy about it.” He gripped her under her chin and kissed her with such passion it sent her senses reeling. For one short moment she tried to fight her feelings then found herself responding to his caresses. Clare felt him tremble, then abruptly he let her go.
“Would you like me to stay for a while so you could have a rest?” he said, lifting an eyebrow. “I can listen out for Julian.”
“I have managed for the last two months,” Clare said sarcastically. “I’m sure I can manage a little longer.”
Adrian took her by surprise and brushed his lips once more across hers.
“As you wish. Until tomorrow, 10 o’clock sharp.”
He smiled mockingly as Clare dragged her hand across her mouth as if to wipe away any track of his kiss.”

Step into an interactive bonding experience at the Los Angeles Museum of Love by traveling through the various stages of a relationship. The museum is filled with interesting information and exhibits about relationships and love. Also featured are a number of couple’s activities that will provoke new insights into the dynamic, unexplored aspects of one another. The interactive experience offered by the museum is designed to enhance any romantic or friendship relationship.
Entrance to the Los Angeles Museum of Love, located in the East Hollywood/Melrose area of LA, is via reservation only. Entrance times will be staggered to allow couples ample personal space while exploring the museum together. During their time in the museum, couples will enjoy activities and exhibits that actively engage them in exploring their relationship. Additionally, each partnership will be given a memory book at the beginning of their adventure as a memento to commemorate and record their special experience.
The museum was designed and produced by Amy Sweetman, a professor of psychology, as a gift to the couples of Los Angeles during the season of love. Entrance fees are $32 per couple and cover the cost of staffing and maintaining the museum.
“The Los Angeles Museum of Love has truly been a labor of love for me,” said Amy Sweetman, founder and designer of the museum. “I wanted to give couples in LA a fun, interactive space that allows them to strengthen their connection while exploring the various stages of a relationship. My hope is that through the museum’s thoughtfully designed exhibits and experiences, couples visiting it will leave with a newfound appreciation of each other and their relationship.”

Full of twists and turns, I found I could not stop reading it until I knew the outcome. The author always makes her novels so readable. You start to feel you really know the characters. The story for me really highlights how a simple lie can cause ripples in peoples’ lives and no man is an island. I did think about karma with certain characters. I disliked Elsa intensely what an awful woman. I really liked Reggie's character he came over as a lovely man. If looking for a good gripping read I would highly recommend this book.”

- Singer, composer and entrepreneur Darrell Kelley is back, and on the road again. This time it's not just to promote his latest radio single, "Because of You" (Viral Records), it's also to raise awareness about the rising level of gun violence that's plaguing all people in the USA.
