The Legacy of Lace arts project aims to celebrate the heritage of lace within Erewash, exploring the area’s shared history through art. Five artists in residence have been working from Erewash Museum to create new work in response to the rich lace heritage in the region. While Nottingham lace is well-known around the world, many people aren’t aware of the part Erewash played – and continues to play – in the industry. Lace has helped to shape everything from the Erewash architectural landscape to the lives of its residents. After the terrible past year, local communities could benefit from some positivity to help reconnect people, build bonds and engage residents of all generations.
