Dr. Sarah Dierks, a native of Appleton, has had a busy 2023! She, along with her husband, have opened a 2nd optometry practice in Northeast Wisconsin. Packerland Eyecare of Chilton was previously Burkhardt Eyecare. Dr. Dierks and her husband, Jon Schloesser, purchased the practice in 2022. And in 2023, they have expanded with another location with Packerland Eyecare of Appleton!
Dr. Dierks and her husband already own and operate several businesses in Northeast Wisconsin, with Gotcha Covered of the Fox Valley and Gotcha Covered of Green Bay, where her husband specializes in UV protection and privacy for window and wall coverings. Dr. Dierks oversees the day-to-day clinical and private practice operations for patients with comprehensive eye exams, diabetic vision screenings, and co-managed surgical care from glaucoma, cataracts, and other optical healthcare.
In 2023, Dr. Dierks was awarded the Women’s Inspire Award from Appleton Monthly Magazine. This award is added her impressive resume during clinical work in Papillion, Nebraska, where her she was the sole doctor and voted Best of Papillion, working in partnership with Dr. Mike Young at 3 different clinical locations.
Dr. Sarah Dierks is a native of the Fox Valley with deep family roots in Chilton. Her grandfather Earl Pfeffer operated Pfeffer Funeral Home for 50 years in Chilton, with Dr. Sarah Dierks spending her youth and adulthood around the same office and community she now operates here in Chilton. In fact, her kids play in the same parks, waterways, and sidewalks that Earl and family walked in the 1950s.
Dr. Sarah Dierks earned her B.S. degree in Biological Sciences at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She then earned her Doctorate of Optometry degree (OD) from Indiana University School of Optometry. Dr. Dierks has done further clinical training at LasikPro in Orlando, FL, Omni Eye Services of Atlanta in Atlanta, GA, and Vision Care Specialists in Des Plaines, IL, along with specialty training at Indiana University Atwater and Community Eye Care clinics in Bloomington, IN.
Dr. Dierks practiced for 4 years outside of Omaha, Nebraska, where she was voted “Best of Papillion”. Her husband is retired military, and they relocated to Wisconsin, where she has been serving the Fox Cities for more 10 years. Dr. Sarah Dierks lives with her husband, 4 active kids.
