Serge Crowbolder Announces Candidacy for Mayor of London
London – 16/01/2024 – Serge Crowbolder, a dedicated resident of London and a passionate advocate for its residents, has announced their candidacy for Mayor of London.
“I don’t really want to be running for Mayor, or to put it more accurately, I shouldn’t be running for Mayor. Because the politicians should be doing their job. But I’ve heard too many stories of suffering, over too long a period of time, from the people living in my city, not to run. Unfortunately no candidate or party is actually offering a solution to the issues that really matter.”
A Dutch immigrant who has lived in London since childhood, Serge believes that it’s time to put the needs of London first and that the political system is due for an upgrade. His core values are honesty, integrity, kindness and strength. While no stranger to leadership positions, he does not view himself as a politician, but rather a negotiator. With no interest in party political blame game squabbles he aims to be a task focused Mayor that puts the needs of Londoners first, focusing on the primary policies of:
Better Rents for London: The private rental market is out of control, hollowing out our great city and destroying the highstreet. We need to achieve better rents for the private sector while supporting the landlords who are providing housing and taking serious steps to address the empty homes problem
Digital Direct Democracy: “Democracy is non-negotiable”. We need to empower the people of London with a democratic platform fit for the 21st century. We’ve had the technology to do this for years, and I see no valid reason not to put it into effect.
In order to create a strong mandate for action to address the issues caused by the runaway private rental market, this is a single issue campaign. All other policies / ideas will be finalised and approved via the GLA and the Digital Democracy Platform that will begin development on day 1. This will enable Londoners to have a say on issues important to them, such as ULEZ, without having to commit in whole to a particular political party.
