Pressbox (Press Release) -
A Grandfather from London has picked his way through missionary records to produce the remarkable story of his ancestors.
The former Global Trade Executive goes back through no fewer than eight generations to the origins of his family name some 250 years ago.
Isaac Mburu Njoroge has also charted his own journey, within the pages of his new book, from a remote village in Kenya to the international stage as an Economist.
A Village Boy’s Global Journey is a story of survival, resilience and ultimately, love.
Isaac, who is a member of the Association of Christian Writers, said: “My story begins at the birth of my clan in 1770.
“There were no written records in Kenya between 1770 and 1900 and I had therefore to extrapolate a lot of details from the scanty records written by the early missionaries.
“From 1900, the British Colonial Archives and thereafter the Kenya National Archives provided me with a lot of information that I used in A Village Boy’s Global Journey.”
Isaac’s own story takes him from poverty and the limited opportunities of the Kenyan village where he grew up.
Through vivid imagery and deeply personal reflections, A Village Boy’s Global Journey is an astonishing account of progress to take a seat in boardrooms across Africa, Asia and the Americas.
Isaac’s natural ability for storytelling, along with his meticulous research, makes his book a thrilling and captivating read.
But ultimately the Biography is a celebration of modern-day education and the limitless doors it can now open.
While A Village Boy’s Global Journey has already received positive feedback from readers since its publication, Isaac’s primary aim is for the book to be a valuable record for the generations of his family who are still to come.
The 65-year-old father-of-four explained: “My book is about recording my Story and that of my ancestors for my grandchildren and great grandchildren.
“A Village Boy’s Global Journey is the only record of my ancestors and without it, the story of my ancestors will be lost forever.”
“It also serves as a testament to the indomitable human spirit and reminds us that regardless of our humble beginnings, we all have the ability to shape our destinies and leave an indelible mark on the world.”
