Midlands writer produces two top novels

Pressbox (Press Release) - A student support worker has brought some menacing magic to his hometown of Birmingham.
Sensational new author Luke Partridge has just released the stunning sequel to his five-star debut, Blood Oath.
And yet again the streets of the Midlands city are awash with spells, violence and rampaging warlocks in the second instalment from the hand of the 26-year-old author.
Luke’s highly-rated first two fantasy-adventure books are winning him fans from across the world.
But he admits that he has no plans to take his Alex Winters series of books away from the city where he grew up.
Luke said: “The books are both based in Birmingham and will continue to be.
“I grew up in and around Birmingham, so I know the area well enough.
“Added to the style of book I wanted to write, much like crime/thrillers that take place in major cities, I wanted to add Birmingham to that list.
“Birmingham has a lot of history and is a great setting for a world of magic, you just need to know where to look.
“The only bit of either of the first two books that is based on truth was a news article about a place being shut down in Digbeth due to the smell of rotting meat.
“I used this for the setting of the end of my second book - with the way the story was going, it seemed too good of an opportunity to pass up.”
By day Luke works at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Birmingham.
His evenings are taken with fulfilling his decade-long ambition to become a successful writer.
His debut, Blood Oath, which was published two years ago, introduces readers to unlikely hero Alex Winters.
Thrown head-first into an unknown underworld of magic, Alex quickly becomes embroiled in warring factions and the growing threat from the Primal of Violence.
Luke’s fast-paced and highly compelling first-book was followed this year by the equally-engrossing Blue Moon.
Yet again Alex is weaving his way through the underworld of magic in an effort to solve murders and a puzzling break-in.
The Alex Winters series has received entirely five-star reviews from captivated readers.
Blood Oath has been described as ‘well-written’, ‘enjoyable’ and ‘highly-recommended’.
Martin Livingstone said: “I really enjoyed this book from a new talent who should have a successful career ahead of him.”

Luke is currently working on his third book in the Alex Winters series.
